October is Breast Cancer Awareness!
"RISE UP" and help us celebrate our Breast Cancer Survivors while at the the same time show support and encouragement to others.  Breast Cancer has no preferences of men and women so remember to get checked frequently.

It is such an Honor and Privilege to share my story. I was Blessed to find my lump. I remember taking a shower and felt a lump and I immediately thought this can't be happening, I just had a mammogram 3 months ago. I called my girlfriend and said to her I felt a lump. She said to me that it's probably nothing. Go get it checked out. I went to my primary doctor. She sent me to get a biopsy, then I got a call to go to the surgeon.  My surgeon said those dreadful words, you have cancer but you caught it early. It was aggressive I had a lumpectomy and they took out 28 lymph nodes.  I received 12 rounds of chemotherapy. In the middle of chemotherapy after round 3, I remember saying bump this- I'm good. I crawled to my bathroom and told God I'm out, this is too hard for me, just let me sleep and be with him. We'll as you see that didn't happen, I had 2 months of Radiation-11 years cancer free. Remember monthly self-checks, does save lives.

I AM A SURVIVOR.  GOD IS GOOOOD. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

In 2003 after my yearly mammogram my PCP referred me to a breast cancer specialist for a biopsy I will never forget me and my husband was prepared to attend the August Imperial Session. After the biopsy my surgeon said to go on vacation and when you return home stop by the office for results. We stopped by and the doctor said that it was cancer and if I didn't have surgery soon it would spread like a wild fire and I would have 6-8 months to live. Within 4 days I was on the operating table after surgery and afterwards radiation and chemo. It was rough but God brought us threw. in August 2013, exactly 10 years, it came back again this time in both breast, so I decided to have a bilateral mastectomy with reconstructive surgery. By the grace of God I did not have to have radiation or chemo therapy and I have been cancer free since. Be proactive, schedule your yearly mammograms and catch any potential problems early. I am a living testimony.

Thank you Jesus, by the grace of God I'm here. Hallelujah!
